There are some students who enjoy college life irrespective of the circumstances. They are happy with whatever they have. However, there is a rider; they need to be surrounded by some good close friends and the same was true for Robin Chaudhary whose family hails from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.

“When I joined Apeejay Stya University (ASU) and enrolled for DPharma I had little expectations. This is because I was not even sure whether I wanted to pursue this programme. I knew one thing, since I had taken Science (medicine) I wanted to do something in the medical field only,” Chaudhary said.

In a straightforward interview, he talks about his days at ASU and his plans for the future.

When and how did you hear about ASU?

I was not very sure what I wanted to do after class XII. So, someone I know suggested a course in pharmacy. I had wanted to qualify for a government pharmacy college in Delhi since they are more affordable. But unfortunately, I couldn’t make the cut. That is when a friend suggested ASU and the various programmes they have to offer including DPharma. So, I joined the programme here.

What was the teaching methodology?

It was very good. Actually, once I joined ASU in 2017, I found that everything here was good including the way they taught, which was a combination of theory and practical learning. The classes were very interactive and therefore interesting to attend.

Was all study or did you have some fun as well?

Of course, it was not all studies. We enjoyed campus life as well. A bunch of us became good friends, I am in touch with some of them even today, and enjoyed our two years at ASU. Back then, we didn’t need to take an exit exam to work in the retail sector; things were so much easier.

Did you register yourself with the placement cell?

Since we didn’t need an exit exam, I didn’t really need the certificate to be able to work in retail or a hospital. I did manage to gain some work experience but just before COVID-19 hit, I quit my job because I thought maybe I could start my own retail shop. But now, I think, I need to learn more about the industry works, gain some work experience by working for at least two-three years before I venture out on my own.

“I can say with certainty that for DPharma, the faculty members are the best. And some of the professors were really good. He made the class so interesting. I loved his lectures. One can say that I had high attendance because of him”

Robin Chaudhary, Alumnus of Apeejay Stya University

How was the faculty?

I don’t know about the rest of the departments but I can say with certainty that for DPharma, the faculty members are the best. And some of the professors, like Manoj sir, were really good. He made the class so interesting. I loved his lectures. One can say that I had high attendance because of him. He was very helpful as well. If we ever went to him with a problem, he did his best to have a solution that was beneficial for us. There are not very many professors who would go out of their way to help students.

Would you recommend ASU?

If the students wanted to pursue DPharma, I would say that this is the best place to come and study. I can’t say what other programmes but I am assuming that if this course is taught so well, so should the others be.
