In a world where technology shapes every aspect of our lives, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, has taken a progressive leap by introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Code 417 as a subject for students of Classes IX and X. The initiative reflects the school’s vision of nurturing future-ready learners who can think critically, innovate fearlessly, and adapt seamlessly to an ever-evolving digital landscape.

This new addition goes beyond traditional learning; it’s about understanding how machines think, learn, and make decisions. Students are exploring the fascinating world of AI concepts such as machine learning, neural networks, computer vision, and data patterns, all simplified to suit their grade level. The subject not only builds technical literacy but also strengthens problem-solving, analytical, and design thinking skills that are essential traits for tomorrow’s innovators and changemakers.

What makes the AI curriculum at Apeejay School truly stand out is its hands-on, experiential approach. Students are not just learning theories; they’re applying them through engaging projects and real-world simulations. From creating basic chatbots and AI-powered games to exploring voice recognition and image classification, every project allows them to witness how technology can be used creatively to solve real problems. This practical exposure ignites curiosity and confidence, empowering learners to imagine possibilities beyond textbooks.

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the introduction of AI reflects Apeejay School’s commitment to integrating 21st-century skills into mainstream education. The programme encourages students to see technology as an enabler of ideas — a bridge between creativity and innovation. Teachers, too, have undergone specialised training to ensure the learning experience remains interactive, ethical, and aligned with global standards of AI education.

“Teaching Artificial Intelligence in schools is not just about coding machines; it’s about shaping young minds to think critically, act responsibly, and innovate fearlessly. Teaching AI at an early stage prepares learners to be innovators and informed citizens in a future driven by intelligent technologies,” shares HoD, Computer Department, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park.

With this forward-thinking initiative, the school continues to reaffirm its mission of Soaring High is My Nature, preparing students not just to adapt to the future but to design it. Through AI, they are learning to think smarter, act responsibly, and lead meaningfully in a world powered by intelligence — both human and artificial.
