Workshops on topics like ‘student engagement’ are crucial for educators. They provide valuable opportunities to learn new strategies and share best practices for effective teaching. Such workshops foster collaboration among teachers, helping them tackle classroom challenges, enhance their pedagogical skills, and create more engaging learning environments.

By empowering teachers, these sessions contribute to the continuous improvement of the education system, ultimately benefiting students’ learning experiences. Recently, a dynamic workshop on ‘student engagement’ was held at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, in collaboration with Suraasa, a global organisation dedicated to empowering educators. The session brought together teachers from various classes, ranging from pre-Primary to senior school, for an enriching exchange of ideas and best practices aimed at boosting student involvement in the classroom.

The workshop was led by the resourceful Ms Shveta Kapur, who initiated discussions on innovative strategies to foster greater student participation in learning activities. Through a series of interactive discussions, she highlighted the importance of understanding diverse student needs and adapting teaching methods accordingly.

Teachers were divided into small groups, allowing them to openly discuss the challenges they face in their classrooms and brainstormed potential solutions. This collaborative approach encouraged them to share experiences, learn from one another, and devise creative methods to capture and retain student interest.

The session proved to be a melting pot of ideas, where educators explored techniques such as gamification, interactive learning, and the integration of technology to make lessons more engaging. It was not just about theory; the workshop offered practical tools and strategies that teachers could immediately implement in their classrooms.

The event concluded on a positive note, with educators feeling inspired and equipped with fresh insights to enhance their teaching practices, ensuring a more engaging and participatory learning environment for their students.
