Recognising this, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, organised a pioneering Career Orientation Programme on April 2, 2024, aimed at guiding class XI students and their parents through the maze of career possibilities. The day began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, a symbol of knowledge and enlightenment. School Principal, Ms Surabhi Joshi, Vice-principal, Ms Vandana Bansal, and the ever-supportive parents, gathered to invoke divine blessings for the students at this pivotal juncture of their lives. This act set the tone for a day of insightful learning and profound discoveries.

Vision and Guidance: The Principal’s Address

In her address, Ms Joshi paid homage to the school’s late Founder-Chairman Dr Stya Paul, whose visionary ideals of ‘Man Making and Nation Building’ have shaped the ethos of Apeejay School. She emphasised the importance of recognizing each child’s unique strengths, interests, and passions, which are the bedrock of making wise career choices.

The Vice-principal, Ms Bansal, highlighted the crucial role parents play in guiding their children through these significant moments. The journey of career selection is a collaborative effort, where support and understanding from the family are indispensable.

Experts from the Apeejay fraternity, including Mr Shiv Sharma, Ms Ritu Sharma, and Ms Preeti Parmar, shed light on the myriad of opportunities that different streams present. The IB Edge: Future-Ready Learning

Ms Neha Sharma, the IB Diploma Programme Coordinator, delved into the advantages and prospects of the IB curriculum. Her insights provided a new angle on how education can be tailored to meet the demands of the future.

Guest speaker Mr Kapish Saraf, an illustrious alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta, and founder of the ed-tech start-up KidEx, shared his expertise on making mindful career choices. His emphasis on aligning career paths with one’s strengths and interests resonated deeply with the audience, offering a fresh perspective on navigating the complex world of careers.
