These AI agents are capable of reasoning, planning, and executing tasks, enabling businesses to scale operations efficiently and respond swiftly to market changes.

According to the report, 81% of business leaders believe that AI agents will be moderately or extensively integrated into their company’s strategy within the next 12 to 18 months.

Redefining organisational structures

The traditional hierarchical organisational chart is evolving into a more dynamic, outcome-driven model. In this new structure, teams form around specific goals rather than fixed functions, with AI agents providing on-demand expertise. This approach allows for greater agility and responsiveness in achieving business objectives.

Notably, 46% of leaders reported using AI agents to fully automate workflows or processes, emphasising the growing reliance on AI for operational efficiency.

The emergence of AI agent supervisors

As AI agents become integral to daily operations, a new role is emerging: the AI agent supervisor. These professionals are responsible for managing, delegating tasks, and optimising the performance of AI agents.

The report indicates that 28% of managers are considering hiring AI workforce managers to lead hybrid teams, and 32% plan to hire AI agent specialists within the next 12 to 18 months.

Balancing human and AI collaboration

While AI agents offer significant advantages, human qualities such as judgement, empathy, and creativity remain essential. To maximise the effectiveness of human-AI teams, organisations are focusing on optimising the human-agent ratio – ensuring a balanced collaboration that leverages the strengths of both.

The integration of AI into the workplace is accelerating, with 24% of leaders reporting company-wide AI deployment and 12% in pilot phases. As organisations navigate this transition, adopting AI as a collaborative partner rather than a replacement will be key to unlocking new levels of productivity and innovation.
