Embarking on a New Journey: The orientation day paves way to parent-school collaboration

On July 20, 2024, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri threw open its doors for a far-reaching special orientation programme for parents of newly admitted students. Specially designed for the parents of children entering classes I to VI, this event did not just bring in a new academic journey but also raised the bar on parent-school engagement.

The day started with the traditional and pious rendition of the Gayatri mantra and continued with a scintillating spectacle of classical dance performance by the very talented student of class X, Livanshi. The cultural themes set sail to the school’s ethos in a very unique way of intermingling rich traditions with modern schooling.

Insightful Presentations by Dr Vineet Vashishtha

The Principal of the school, Dr Vineet Vashishtha, played a pivotal role as the host of the session. He gave an excellently structured presentation on PowerPoint by leading the parents through the programme. To a large extent, it illuminated various factors of the academic and extracurricular framework in the school. His meticulous exposition of the systems in the school, from its academic offerings to student support services, gave the parents a fair idea of what was in store for them during the future years ahead.

The session was then opened to the parents, and it became interactive. This gave the parents a chance to express their views, ask questions, and clarify any doubts. Dr Vashishtha explained at length, along with the administrative staff of the school, so that no doubts were left in the minds of the audience. This indeed proved very significant in creating a transparent environment and thus built mutual trust. The open dialogue was crucial in addressing parental concerns and questions, providing reassurance and clarity.

It was more than a mere orientation programme; it served as the very threshold for building a strong community foundation at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri. The inclusive approach, which combined the cultural touch with informative sessions and conducted a two-way open dialogue, hit all the right vibes with the gathering.
