
Recently, Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, came alive with energy as students and staff celebrated Earth Day and World Book Day. The two-day event aimed to create awareness about environmental conservation and promote a love for reading among young learners.
The celebrations witnessed wholehearted participation from students across Classes III to X. The spirit of the occasion was reflected in every activity, encouraging students to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners.
The programme was smoothly conducted by Mannat and Divyansha of Class IX, who kept the audience engaged with their confident and lively compering. The event opened with a meaningful ‘Thought on Earth Day’ by Guneet Kaur of Class VIII, setting a thoughtful tone for the day.
Sahibjot Singh of Class IX delivered an insightful talk on Earth Day, urging everyone to reflect on the urgent need to protect and nurture our planet. To further strengthen the message, an informative video on Earth Day was shown, leaving the audience with powerful visuals and ideas about sustainable living.
Students and staff then came together to take a heartfelt ‘Pledge to Protect the Earth’, reinforcing their commitment towards environmental conservation.
Honouring the power of books
On World Book Day, celebrated on April 23, Arshavi Verma of Class XI (Science) delivered an engaging talk. She highlighted how books play a vital role in shaping thoughts, building knowledge, and creating a better society. Her words resonated strongly with the young audience, many of whom are budding readers themselves.
To mark the dual celebrations, a series of creative competitions were organised. Students from Classes III to X participated enthusiastically in Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Bookmark Making, Paper Bag Making, and News Cartoon Making.
The activities provided students with an opportunity to unleash their imagination and creativity. Beautiful pieces of art were crafted, each carrying meaningful messages about protecting the environment and cherishing the world of books.

The event concluded with an inspiring address by the Principal, Mr AK Sharma. He praised the students for their active involvement and encouraged them to continue their journey towards becoming environmentally conscious individuals and passionate learners. His motivating words left everyone feeling proud and committed to making a positive difference in the world.
