Kirti Tripathi is an artist to watch out for. This class 9 student from Apeejay School, Nerul is indeed blessed by the Goddess of art. Still a long way to go but the finesse in her artworks speaks of her bright future.
Speaking about her art in this week’s Apeejay Aspiring Artist series, the young painter explains about her approach towards her work and what she looks up to in the world of colours. Read edited excerpts:
Since when have you been drawing Kirti?
Drawing has been my passion since my childhood days. Even before going to school, I loved to draw.
So which art form is your favourite and why?
Acrylic painting is the art form that I enjoy the most. There are many techniques available in this form wherein I can use my imagination and creativity to the fullest.
And how does your school support you as an artist?

My school supports me a lot as an artist. They motivate me in taking part in various art competitions as well as encourage me to use my skills and imagination while drawing and painting.
Every artist has a unique definition of art, what’s yours?
For me, art is the expression of ideas and emotions through a physical medium like painting or drawing via which we can share our thoughts, experiences and beliefs.
Well said! So how much time does it take you to complete an artwork? What are your common ideas and themes?
Usually, it varies between one to two hours to finish an artwork. It also depends on the type of painting I intend to make.
Any upcoming artworks?
My upcoming artworks are various natural sceneries and also some paintings of a fairy.
One new artform you wish to learn?
Realistic painting is the art form which I wish to learn. It looks photographic and real at the same time. I wish to master that.
Finally, other hobbies apart from art?
Apart from art, reading different kinds of books is my hobby as it helps me improve my vocabulary, critical thinking and literary skills.
