The Directorate of Education (DoE) has released a firm instruction, declaring a ban on the use of mobile phones by both government and private school students within classroom boundaries in Delhi. According to the advisory, parents are urged to ensure their children refrain from bringing mobile phones onto school premises.

In cases where students bring mobile phones to school, the school administration must organise provisions for safe storage, such as lockers, and subsequently return the mobile phones to students at the end of the school day.

Additionally, educators and other personnel are advised to abstain from using mobile phones in areas like classrooms, playgrounds, laboratories, and libraries – all essential spaces for educational interactions and learning experiences.

The school authorities have also been asked to provide helpline numbers that students and parents can call in case of an emergency.
