Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit? 

The Entrepreneurship Cell of Apeejay School of Management (ASM) recently organised a seminar on “My Story Session – My journey of becoming an entrepreneur”. The seminar was attended by first-year and second-year PGDM students. The objective of organising this engaging session was to encourage and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among youths in line with the Prime Minister’s initiative that aims to generate employment, promote startups, and develop the economy towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat. 

During the session, ASM alumni Mr. Kashish Aneja, an entrepreneur and Co-founder of Xero Degrees, and Ms. Richa Mehta, Social Entrepreneur, Founder & Director LuxuryDot., shared their journey and challenges they faced on their path towards becoming entrepreneurs. 

Mr. Kashish discussed his career journey, his motivations for startup and about his current venture (Xero Degrees Cafe) and emphasised on some of the key lessons and learnings for the students. These include: follow your passion; a journey is not always a straight line; entrepreneurship is not about making money but about satisfaction; learning is an ongoing process; No Risk, No Gain, and finally, there is no shortcut to success. 

Ms. Richa Mehta talked about several life goals and objectives that students must focus on to achieve their targets. She also discussed her entrepreneurial journey, and how with sheer grit and determination, there was nothing that could stop her.

The session concluded with the Q&A round. The event was coordinated by the student members of E-Cell at ASM. It was coordinated by Dr Chhaya Wadhwa and Prof Anuj Kumar, under the leadership and guidance of Dr Alka Munjal, Director of ASM.

At the end of the session, students shared their learnings. First-year PGDM student Vikas Sheorain said, “I think one must stop running behind money but focus on achieving  success. You must be the first one to hear your instinct and complete it and the best way to predict the future is to create it.”

He also said, “I would like emphasise that risk takers never quit, and quitters never take risks.”

“The seminar was fascinating and inspiring, and my learning during the session was: Be passionate about your goal,” added Ragini Kumari, a PGDM 1st Year student.
