The much-awaited Diwali Mela 2025 of Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, brought together students, parents, teachers, and guests for an evening filled with festivities, learning, and community spirit. The evening began with a warm and lively welcome by student hosts Aaditya and Yishika, who set the tone with witty, heartfelt remarks. They highlighted the essence of Diwali as the Festival of Lights, a celebration of hope, knowledge, and the triumph of good over evil.
With humour and enthusiasm, they invited everyone to immerse themselves in the vibrant mela, which promised laughter, music, dance, delicious food, and exciting student-led activities.
A key highlight of the event was the Guru Vandana performance by Shanaya and Pihu (PYP-5), a traditional dance expressing gratitude, respect, and devotion toward teachers and mentors. Following this, students enthusiastically explored the various stalls, which included fun games, Diwali hampers, artistic showcases, a photobooth, and awareness corners promoting sanitation, sustainability, and eco-friendly celebrations. The event also emphasised giving back, with all proceeds from the stalls donated to the CRY Foundation (Child Rights and You), supporting education, healthcare, and a brighter future for underprivileged children.

The talent segment of the evening was an eclectic showcase of the school’s creative spirit. Students impressed the audience with band performances by Sia Arora, Navya Gupta, Twisha Krishna, Atharv Jain, Vedant, Aidaan, and Viraj, alongside solo instrumental pieces by Neal Verma (guitar), Yishika Gupta, Anahita Sen, and Sushrut Kumar Patralekh (ukulele). The stage came alive with energetic solo and group dance performances, classical and fusion acts by Vamika Tripathy, Aarya, Sanaya, Dhanya, Tara Sanyal Goswami, and many others.
Vocal talents included renditions by Liam Mathew, Utkarsha Shankar, Prisha Singh, Hetav Singh, Aishwarya, Aditi, Ananya, Alessandra, and the flash mob performers, culminating in a lively rendition of Dancing Queen. The Ramleela enactment by PYP-4 and 5 students added a traditional and theatrical touch, delighting the audience.
The evening also featured interactive activities like tambola and musical chairs, engaging students, parents, and staff in a spirit of camaraderie and fun.

Beyond the entertainment, the Diwali Mela celebrated creativity, teamwork, and community, providing students with a platform to demonstrate entrepreneurial skills, organisational talent, and artistic expression. The collective participation of students, teachers, and parents ensured that the event was not only vibrant and enjoyable but also meaningful, spreading the true spirit of Diwali — joy, light, and togetherness.
