Discourage the act of bullying

Published

on

Bullying refers to aggressive behaviour to dominate the other person. Coercion of power over others is only required to dominate others, rest it doesn’t carry any weight. It is not merely a one-time act, but it gets repeated time and again.

The act to humiliate others is a result of someone’s perception of the imbalance of power. The influential role which parents as well as teachers can play is certainly unparalleled. The sooner they observe the change the better it is for the students. Taking into notice all those symptoms which prohibit children from carrying out a normal pattern of life are behavioural change, lack of self-esteem, concentration deficit, and many more.

Early recognition of symptoms, prompt action and timely counselling can reduce the after-effects of bullying on the victim. It is the duty of the parents to constantly preach to their children about not bullying anyone as it is absolutely an unhealthy habit.

Meanwhile, if we, as a society, need to grow and develop, then we have to collectively work towards discouraging the act of bullying and hence make our children feel secure. Let’s take the example of two boys – Aryaan and Ahaan.

Aryaan is a sensitive child and tends to take things seriously. On the other hand, Ahaan is quite bold and impudent. He keeps bullying almost everyone. One day he tries to bully Aryaan and this unhealthy act of his casts a bad impact on Ahaan’s sensitive mind. After reaching home, Ahaan opens up his heart to his mother, and she listens to his state of mind quite thoughtfully. She accordingly tries to adopt appropriate measures to resolve this issue.

The next day, Ahaan’s mother approaches the teachers and discusses the whole matter and seeks to meet his son along with the teachers. As soon as Ahaan gets into the room, some anxiety seems to be there on his face and his behaviour totally mismatches the normal student. His teacher and mother makes him understand how to deal with the situation and talk to Aryaan about the same. Soon the two become good friends.

In the conclusion, Ahaan’s mother plays quite an intellectual and mature role in tackling the bullying scenario of her son.
