Stepping into the corporate world as a Branch Manager at Muthoot Fincorp, Paral Agarwal credits Apeejay School of Management (ASM) for turning his potential into performance. Specialising in Marketing and Finance as part of the MBA Batch of 2025, he says his journey at ASM helped him evolve into a confident communicator and a strong team leader – qualities that now drive his success in the banking and finance sector.
Read edited excerpts:
How would you describe your overall journey at ASM?
When I joined ASM, I was shy and never spoke in public. But the environment here pushed me to step forward. Different presentations, events and group activities helped me gain confidence. Today, I can address a team or customers without hesitation — and that confidence has come entirely from ASM.

What skills did you gain during your MBA that helped you professionally?
Public speaking and communication were major improvements. I also developed technical skills related to marketing and finance specialisations. ASM gives exposure through real cases, workshops and industry-focused tasks. These experiences helped me prepare for real corporate responsibilities.
You were the President of the Cultural Club at ASM. How did that role help you grow?
Being Cultural Club President improved my leadership abilities. I learnt how to manage a team, delegate roles, and complete things on time. Today as Branch Manager, I follow the same principle — if the team is strong and motivated, performance improves automatically. Leading events at college helped me understand teamwork in a practical way.
How supportive were the faculty throughout your academic journey?
Faculty members supported us in academics as well as personality development. Around 90% of my learning improvement — whether doubts, career guidance, projects — came from their mentorship. They always encouraged us to push boundaries.
Can you share one memorable classroom experience that boosted your confidence?
In my very first semester, we had to present a PPT in front of the class. I was nervous, but once it ended, I realised — yes, I can do this! That small moment became a big turning point in building my self-belief.
