Delhi Metro to prioritise CBSE students during Boards

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced special measures to facilitate students appearing for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Board exams in 2026. The arrangements will be in place from February 17 to April 10, covering the examination period for Classes X and XII across the national capital.

With lakhs of students expected to commute daily to exam centres, DMRC said candidates carrying valid CBSE admit cards will be given priority at security checks and ticket counters. The facilitation has been coordinated with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which manages security across metro stations.

Students will receive priority during frisking at security gates. They will also be given preference while purchasing tickets at Ticket Office Machines (TOM) and Customer Care (CC) centres to minimise waiting time and prevent delays. DMRC officials stated that centralised announcements will be made at stations to guide students and manage peak-hour crowds, particularly near major examination hubs.

Meanwhile, DMRC is expanding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across its network to enhance operational efficiency, safety and passenger services. At the ongoing AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam, the corporation showcased several AI-driven initiatives, including Ask CHETNA, a chatbot powered by BharatGPT. The platform offers journey planning, fare information, real-time updates and ticket booking services through web and mobile applications.
