Welcoming the students for the new academic session, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park recently organised an orientation programme for students of classes 6 to 12 and their parents. The programme aimed to disseminate important information about the school’s teaching methodologies and co-curricular activities.

At the event, parents and students were apprised of the rules and regulations of the school such as school timings, school uniform, use of mobile phones, use of textbooks/notebooks, school curriculum, mandatory attendance, discipline, how to use Moodle as well as the examination processes.

To develop creative and critical thinking capacities of students to meet 21st century challenges, parents and students of classes 9 to 12 were familiarised with the new curriculum as per CBSE guidelines, in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020.

The corresponding changes regarding assessment, evaluation, and examination practices of the Board for the session 2023-24 were also extensively explained during the session.

Further, they were informed about the increase in the number of Competency Based Questions that assess application of concepts in real-life situations, which will be part of the question paper. The class teachers also informed the students regarding the availability of Sample Question Papers (SQP) on the CBSE website.

Curious parents got the opportunity to clarify their doubts. Meanwhile, students raised relevant questions to familiarise themselves with question paper design, solving MCQS and much more.

While expressing their views, mother of Amongarna Bhattacharya said, “Teachers and parents together build a child’s future. Hence, it is very important for them to know each other. Also, the composition of the question paper was discussed in the meeting.”

He added, “Class teacher, Ms Payal Kapoor, also advised me to check the Moodle app regularly for all the subject related information. Well, it was a good interaction at the start of the session, to have a focused approach about the child’s overall development during the year.”
