Exposing students to different cultures, traditions, and lifestyles fosters cultural sensitivity and appreciation. It broadens their worldview and promotes acceptance and tolerance towards diversity. Excursion trips are considered essential aspects as they offer opportunities for students to interact with their peers and teachers outside the classroom setting.
To inculcate similar levels of opportunity amongst students, Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar organised ta wo-day excursion for the students of classes VIII to X to the picturesque backdrop of Dalhousie. A group of 18 spirited students embarked on a journey filled with anticipation.

Leaving the scorching heat of Jalandhar behind, the cool weather of Dalhousie welcomed them with open arms, setting the stage for an exhilarating escapade. The journey commenced with hearts brimming with excitement as the students, set foot in this mountain town nestled in Himachal Pradesh.
The trip wasn’t merely a getaway, rather it was an opportunity to forge lasting bonds, create indelible memories, and achieve common goals as a group. The Officiating Principal of the school, Ms Priyanka Grover, bestowed her best wishes upon the students, urging them to craft memories that would define their cherished school life.
Their home away from home for the next two nights was the cozy confines of The Greenland View. Situated amidst nature’s bounty, this abode provided the perfect sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation. After a hearty breakfast at Hotel Mama’s Rasoi, the students embarked on a day filled with adventure and exploration.

Their itinerary was packed with excitement, featuring visits to Khajjar and Chamba. In Khajjar, often hailed as the “Mini Switzerland of India,” the students were treated to breathtaking vistas and a plethora of activities. From trekking through lush greenery to horse riding along winding trails, every moment was an adventure waiting to unfold. The serene ambiance of Sri Laxmi Nath Mandir provided solace to weary souls, while the museum offered glimpses into the rich cultural tapestry of the region.
In Chamba, history came alive as the students delved into the past through visits to historical landmarks and local attractions. The day was a perfect blend of sightseeing and immersive experiences, leaving an indelible mark on each participant’s heart.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, signaling the end of another remarkable day, the students gathered at Hotel City Heart for a sumptuous lunch. Amidst laughter and chatter, bonds were strengthened, and memories were etched into the annals of time.
With reluctance in their hearts and a treasure trove of memories in their minds, the students bid adieu to Dalhousie on June 3.
The trip was proven to be exceptionally memorable for the students not only for the scenic beauty, exploring the picturesque landscapes of Dalhousie and Khajjiar, with their lush greenery, serene lakes, and majestic mountains but also for developing a bonding experience and personal growth.
Students embarked on their journey back to Jalandhar, carrying with them the camaraderie, laughter, and cherished moments that defined their excursion.
