What begins as a simple curiosity can often grow into a lifelong passion. For Doni Sinha, it was an early fascination with how medicines work almost magically inside the human body to cure illness that shaped her academic and professional path. A 2022 graduate of Apeejay Stya University (ASU), the alumna chose to pursue pharmacy to better understand the science behind healing. In a candid conversation, she reflects on how that initial inquisitiveness continues to drive her journey. Today, she is not just asking how medicines work; she is steadily becoming an expert, determined to explore, understand, and contribute to the evolving world of pharmacology.
What are you doing professionally now?
I am, at present, working at IQVIA as a Clinical Analyst. I work with clinical data and support research projects that contribute to better healthcare outcomes. Before that, I cleared two national-level exams, NIPER JEE and GPAT, and secured AIR 26 in GPAT, which played an important role in shaping my academic journey.
Share your favourite nostalgia from ASU.
One of my favourite memories from ASU is the orientation programme. It was the first time we all met as new students, and what started as simple introductions slowly turned into strong friendships. Many of those friends later became an important support system in both academics and life.

How did pharmacy interest you?
My interest started with a curiosity about how medicines work in our bodies. As I learnt more about pharmacology and drug development during my studies, I realised how impactful this field is in improving people’s lives, which motivated me to pursue it further.
Advice for pharmacy aspirants.
Stay curious and focus on building strong fundamentals in your core subjects. Preparing for exams like GPAT and NIPER can open great opportunities for higher studies and research. Consistency and dedication make a big difference.
How has Artificial Intelligence (AI) redefined the pharmacy industry?
AI is transforming the pharmaceutical industry in many ways, especially in drug discovery, clinical trials, and data analysis. It helps researchers analyse large datasets quickly and identify potential drug candidates more efficiently, which ultimately speeds up innovation in healthcare.
What would you like to say to present ASU students?
Enjoy your college days because they are some of the best years of your life. At the same time, try to stay focused on your goals, explore different opportunities, and work on building skills that will help you in your future.
