CUET-UG 2025 postponed to May 13

The Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate Programmes (CUET-UG) 2025, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will now begin on May 13, five days later than its original schedule. The delay has sparked anxiety among the 13.5 lakh registered candidates due to the NTA’s silence on the release of exam city slips and subject-wise schedules.

This year marks a significant change as the CUET-UG 2025 will be conducted entirely in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for all 37 subjects. Each subject paper will be of 60 minutes duration and include 50 multiple-choice questions. Exams will be conducted in two to three shifts per day, depending on center availability.

Among the subjects, English has seen the highest number of registrations, with over 10 lakh candidates, requiring at least 10 shifts to accommodate all test-takers. The General Test also received over eight lakh applications, adding to the scheduling challenge.

Unlike previous editions, the NTA has not released a formal date sheet this time. Instead, exam details will be shared directly through the city intimation slips. The delay in communication has caused concern among students and parents, particularly regarding travel and accommodation plans.

Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official NTA CUET website for timely updates and prepare for a packed exam schedule starting May 13.
