Cricket in India

Cricket, a bat-ball game played between two teams, each having 11 players is not just a game  , for Indians .
It is an emotion or even more than that  , for  Indians. Born in an Indian family, it means a lot  for me. This sport is played everywhere in India . People in India are crazy about cricket . India has launched INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL) in 2008 which is in T20 format . The BOARD OF CONTROL FOR CRICKET IN INDIA ( bcci ) launched this Indian premier league . BCCI also established women’s premier league (wpl) in 2022. Indian cricket team is one of the most successful team as it has won 2, T20 world championships , 2 ICC world cups and 2 champions trophy . India has also hosted the 2023 ICC ODI world cup and was the runner up in the finals . Cricket is an important sport for people in India . India has top players ;like Virat Kohli , Rohit Sharma , Jasprit Bumrah , Yuvraj Singh , Sachin Tendulkar , M.S Dhoni , Kapil Dev and many more successful players . Recently , India has won the world T20 championships in march 2024 in Kensington Oval stadium (Barbados) . The fans and the spectators celebrated the whole night about the team’s successful outcome.

There is a women’s cricket team too in India,  besides  men’s cricket team which too consist of many successful players and has won the T20 ASIA CUP four times making India proud .
