The Anti-Ragging Cell of Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar in collaboration with the NSS wing recently organised a poster-making competition aimed at fostering awareness about the critical issue of ragging. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their creativity and social responsibility through compelling visuals and slogans.

Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, graced the occasion and shared her insights on the importance of such initiatives. She emphasised the college’s commitment to addressing societal challenges and nurturing responsible citizens. “The college strives to make students aware of social problems, so they understand the root causes and contribute to positive societal change. The Anti-Ragging Cell plays a vital role in educating students and promoting a safe, inclusive environment on campus,” Dr. Dhingra said.

The competition served as a platform for students to express their thoughts creatively while reinforcing the anti-ragging message. Through vibrant colors and impactful designs, the participants highlighted the detrimental effects of ragging and the importance of unity and mutual respect among peers.

Dr. Dhingra commended the efforts of Dr. Seema Sharma, Dean of the Anti-Ragging Cell, and faculty members Dr. Monika Mogla and Dr. Kewal Nailwal for successfully organizing the event. She acknowledged their dedication to fostering a safe and supportive environment in the college, ensuring that students not only excel academically but also develop a strong sense of social responsibility.

Such initiatives by the college underscore the importance of community engagement in tackling societal issues. The Poster-Making Competition was not only an artistic endeavor but also a significant step in spreading awareness about the need for respect, inclusivity, and harmony in educational institutions.

The Anti-Ragging Cell at Apeejay College regularly conducts similar events to ensure that students remain informed about the consequences of ragging and the significance of creating a safe and nurturing campus environment. These efforts align with the broader mission of the college to shape individuals who contribute positively to society.
