Didhiti Dhir, a promising talent from Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus, Jalandhar, has recently secured a placement with Muthoot Fincorp. Driven by her passion for leadership, responsibility, and decision-making, she chose AIMETC for its strong focus on practical learning, personality development, and industry exposure—an environment that helped her refine her goals and career direction.

Read edited excerpts of Didhiti’s interview in which she expresses her joy for this achievement as well as shares about her placement preparation strategy

How did you feel when you got the news of placement? What is the position you joined?

When I received the placement news, I was honestly overwhelmed and proud at the same time. It was a moment of disbelief because getting placed directly as a Branch Manager is a big responsibility for any student. It felt rewarding to see my hard work and the support of my teachers turn into such an opportunity. That moment boosted my confidence and motivated me to aim even higher.

How did you prepare for the placement? How did your teachers at Apeejay help you pass the process?

My preparation was consistent and focused. I worked on understanding my subjects thoroughly, improving my communication skills, and staying updated with industry expectations. Mock interviews, presentations, and group discussions helped me gain confidence.

The teachers at Apeejay were like mentors—they guided me at every step, corrected my mistakes, and constantly encouraged me. Their feedback helped me present myself with confidence and clarity during the interview.

What according to you is important when going for a job interview?

I feel the most important thing in an interview is confidence backed by preparation. Being honest, having clarity about your role, and showing a positive attitude really matter. Interviewers are not just judging knowledge, but also your mindset, leadership potential, and willingness to take responsibility.

Which skills are important to develop from day one as you join college that will help in placements and career?

From day one, students should focus on communication skills, leadership qualities, and discipline. Learning how to manage time, work in a team, and handle pressure is very important. Also, developing self-confidence and adaptability helps a lot, especially when stepping into managerial roles early in your career.

Tips to stay calm during placement interviews

I reminded myself that the interview was an opportunity, not a threat. Taking deep breaths, listening carefully to questions, and answering honestly helped me stay calm. Believing in my preparation and staying positive made a big difference. Even if you feel nervous, confidence grows once you start speaking.
