Young achievers from Apeejay School, Noida, share their inspiring academic journeys, highlighting disciplined routines, overcoming difficult subjects, and the importance of support from teachers and parents. Meet Kaarthik Sudeep, Shashmit Singhla, and Aanshi Pandey (academic year 2024-25) of Class VII-F at Apeejay School, Noida, who have proved that consistency and hard work are key to success.

Kaarthik, who scored 98.6%, excluding the third language, said, “I developed a structured study plan while preparing for Class VII, allocating time for each subject. My focus was always on understanding the concepts rather than memorising them. After completing each topic, I would make sure to revise it to reinforce my understanding. To avoid monotony, I would take short breaks in between my study sessions. This approach helped me maintain consistency and focus throughout the year,” he shared.

Mathematics was a challenging subject for him. However, he overcame this by designing a thorough study plan, ensuring conceptual clarity, and practising regularly.

”My teachers played a vital role in my academic journey. They were supportive and offered constant guidance. They helped me recognise my strengths and weaknesses and encouraged me to ask questions whenever I was unsure,” he stated.

Shashmit, who scored 97.6%, excluding the third language, recalling his study plan, said that he didn’t follow a rigid timetable. “But I made sure to study for one to two hours daily. I also made time for my hobbies, such as cycling and coding on my laptop, which kept me refreshed and focused,” he recounted and added that Social Science was a bit challenging because of all the dates and key points, especially in History.

“For example, in the chapter Devotional Paths to the Divine, I struggled to remember the teachings and origins of saints like Kabir and Guru Nanak. My Social Science teacher suggested that I make a table to summarise the key facts. That strategy helped me with revisions and made things easier to remember,” he said.

Focusing on preparing well and not overthinking the outcome kept his mind relaxed and helped him avoid anxiety.

Aanshiwho achieved an impressive 95.8% (excluding the third language), attributed her success to consistent year-round study and the unwavering support of her mother. “She always motivated me, especially during tough times. When I felt worn out, she encouraged me and made learning enjoyable,” Aanshi shared.

As a new admission in Class VII, adjusting to a different school environment was initially challenging. However, with friendly classmates and caring teachers, she gradually settled in.

Her teachers regularly encouraged her to ask questions and clear her doubts. “It’s important to clarify doubts in class as it helps us understand concepts better and be prepared for exams,” she said. Her perseverance, combined with encouragement from her teachers and peers, helped her excel academically and feel at home.
