Congratulations on receiving the Dr. Stya Paul Award for Human Values! How did you feel when you first heard the news?

When I first heard the news, I was overwhelmed with joy. Receiving the Dr. Stya Paul Award for Human Values is truly an honour. After going through multiple rounds of interviews, I feel deeply grateful and proud that my school recognises and values my efforts in upholding these principles.

Please share your journey, about how the school has shaped your outlook on life.

My journey here has been truly transformative, shaping me far beyond academics. The school’s focus on holistic growth has helped me balance intellectual pursuits with empathy and social responsibility.

From collaborative projects to leadership experiences, I’ve learned to use knowledge as a force for good. The school’s supportive community has taught me that true success uplifts others along with oneself.

In your own words, what do human values mean to you?

To me, human values are the compass that guides our actions when no one is watching. They represent integrity, compassion, and respect: principles that transcend personal gain.

Human values mean treating others with dignity regardless of differences, standing up for what’s right even when it’s difficult, and recognising our responsibility to contribute positively to the world around us. They’re the foundation of meaningful relationships and lasting impact

Who or what inspired you to live by strong moral and ethical values?

My family instilled these values in me from an early age, showing through their actions that character outweighs achievement.

Witnessing how small acts of kindness create ripples of positive change in my community strengthened this belief. Inspired by teachers who lead by example and stories of those who choose principle over convenience, I’ve learned to stay true to my ethics—even in challenging situations.

How do you try to spread good values among your friends or classmates?

I believe in leading through actions rather than words. Whether it’s including someone who feels left out, recognising others’ efforts, or admitting my mistakes, I strive to embody the values I uphold. I also encourage open, judgment-free discussions on ethical dilemmas.

By supporting classmates in difficult times and celebrating their successes, I aim to nurture a culture of empathy, respect, and collective growth within our community.

Have you been involved in any community service or social responsibility projects?

Through school initiatives and personal efforts, I’ve actively participated in various community service projects that have shaped my sense of social responsibility.

From tutoring underprivileged students and supporting local causes to joining environmental campaigns, each experience has taught me that privilege carries responsibility.

I’ve contributed to the CRY Foundation fundraiser, the Share the Warmth donation drive, and volunteered or interned with multiple NGOs. These experiences have been deeply fulfilling, enriching my perspective as much as I hope they’ve benefited others.

If you could describe your journey of values in one line or quote, what would it be?

Values aren’t destinations we reach but choices we make daily: choosing compassion over indifference, integrity over convenience, and purpose over praise.
