Khem Chand, a final-year B. Pharma student at Apeejay Stya University, reflects on his enriching journey at ASU, where he discovered a passion for pharmaceutical sciences and actively participated in campus life. He shares insights about securing a coveted internship at Mankind Pharma, and reveals his career aspirations. Read the edited interview:
How has your experience at Apeejay Stya University (ASU) been?
It’s been very good. I’ve learned a lot during this course, including pharmaceutical kinetics of drugs, their chemical and physical properties, and various scientific details. The course has truly sparked my interest, and now I’m considering pursuing a Master’s degree.
And what are your ambitions after completing this course?
I aim to become a Drug Inspector or start my own third-party pharmaceutical business.
So, is the faculty supportive and teaching well? Yes, the faculty is excellent. All the professors are skilled and guide us at every step of our pharma journey.
How would you describe life on campus?
It’s very happening! I actively participate in sports activities. I recently played a volleyball match, and I’m also heavily involved in badminton and cricket matches.
How did the Corporate Resource Centre (CRC) help you get this internship?
I secured the internship through campus placement. The training at ASU, especially the webinars on facing group discussions and interviews, prepared me well.
Finally, tell us about your internship at Mankind Pharma?
I spent a little over two months interning there, working regular hours five days a week. I gained valuable industry skills and insights into pharmaceutical and other scientific practices. It was a great journey!
