Archita Ranjan is a graduate in B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from the School of Legal Studies at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, who is currently working as a “Legal Executive” at MNB Build Fab Pvt. Ltd., Gurugram. She initially joined the company as a legal intern, and based on her outstanding performance, she was offered a pre-placement opportunity. I am grateful to my Head of Department, Astha Ma’am, who guided and helped me secure this internship.
What inspired you to choose law as a career, and how did Apeejay Stya University shape your journey?
I chose law as a career because I’ve always been interested in how legal systems govern both businesses and international relations. My passion lies in corporate law, where I enjoy understanding how law supports business strategy and compliance. At the same time, I am deeply interested in international law and aspire to represent India on global platforms and contribute to shaping international legal policies.
Apeejay Stya University provided the ideal foundation for this journey. Through practical exposure, strong academic support, and encouragement to participate in moot courts, debates, and internships, ASU helped me explore both national and international aspects of law. The university not only sharpened my legal skills but also inspired me to think globally and pursue a career that bridges domestic and international legal systems.
Can you share a memorable learning experience—whether a moot court, internship, or project—that had a lasting impact on you?
One of the most impactful experiences was participating in more than 10 moot court competitions, both inter and intra university level. These competitions enhanced my research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills. Additionally, representing Apeejay at the National Youth Festival in the elocution competition and as a panellist in the Times of India were proud moments for me. My internships at institutions like the National Human Rights Commission, ANZ LAWZ, NLSIU, Bangalore and various High Courts and District Courts across India have also provided real-world insights and helped me gain practical knowledge of the legal system.

What skills or values gained at ASU do you find most useful in your professional life today?
The most valuable skills I developed at ASU include strong public speaking, leadership quality, legal research, and analytical thinking. Participating in moot courts and debates greatly improved my confidence and communication.
Moreover, ASU’s interdisciplinary approach, especially the liberal arts courses, broadened my perspective and helped me understand the interconnectedness of law with other fields. These skills have been incredibly useful in my current role and continue to shape my professional outlook.
In what ways did ASU’s faculty and mentorship contribute to your personal and professional growth?
The faculty at Apeejay has been the backbone of my law school journey. From day one, they have guided and supported me through every challenge and opportunity. I am especially grateful for their unwavering encouragement and mentorship. They were instrumental in motivating me to participate in moot courts, secure internships, and push my boundaries. They helped me in my holistic development. I truly believe that whatever I’ve achieved so far is because of their guidance, and I will always be thankful.
What are your future aspirations?
My future goal is to build a strong and impactful career in corporate law, where I can navigate complex legal issues related to business, compliance, and commercial transactions. I am passionate about understanding the legal intricacies of the corporate world and aim to work in a dynamic environment where I can contribute meaningfully, continuously learn, and grow as a legal professional. Additionally, I aspire to pursue international law, with the ambition to represent India on global platforms and contribute to cross-border legal developments, international trade, and diplomacy. My long-term vision is to work at the intersection of corporate and international law, addressing legal challenges that transcend borders.
