I participated in the PPT Symposium competition — Goonj recently, along with 12 schools. It was indeed both an educative and an elevating experience. While preparing the PPT, I researched extensively and realised the gravity of this issue. Moreover, exploring viable ways out also gave me new insights into pragmatic measures.
How did Apeejay School support you in this?
My mentor at Apeejay School was a constant guiding light, offering unwavering support throughout the journey. With her valuable resources, insightful guidance, and unparalleled expertise, she steered me through challenges, making the arduous task manageable and inspiring me to achieve my goals with confidence and determination.
What was the most challenging part of the competition? How did you overcome it?
The toughest part was condensing a vast amount of research into a limited number of slides. I overcame this by identifying the essence of the topic, the points that truly mattered and building my presentation around them. That clarity probably gave me the edge.

Why did you choose that particular topic?
I chose plastic pollution because it is one of the planet’s most pressing challenges. If left unaddressed, its impact could be irreversible for future generations. Its urgency, global relevance, and the need for collective action made it my top choice for the symposium topic.
What are your plans ahead?
I plan to explore more global strategies on this issue, like plastic roads. One judge’s insights during the competition inspired me to dig deeper. I also aim to study the problem of depleting water levels and work on practical, scalable solutions.
