Mathematics came alive in colours, creativity, and shapes as students of Class VII at Apeejay School, Noida, participated in the Inter-class Activity – Math Wall Hanging Challenge. Designed to blend logic with imagination, the event encouraged students to view mathematics beyond numbers as a creative and visual art form that exists all around us.
Such initiatives are integral to holistic learning, as they foster analytical thinking while nurturing artistic expression. By transforming abstract geometric ideas into tangible designs, students learned how Math is not just a subject confined to textbooks but a powerful tool for understanding patterns, structures, and symmetry in the world. Activities like these help bridge the gap between theory and practice, allowing students to discover the aesthetic beauty hidden within mathematical concepts.

During the event, the school corridors turned into a gallery of geometric wonder. Each wall hanging was a vibrant display of 2D and 3D shapes, meticulously arranged with symmetry, proportion, and precision. Students applied mathematical concepts such as area, perimeter, angles, and tessellation to create their artistic pieces. From colourful polygons and pyramids to intricate designs inspired by everyday geometry, their creativity knew no bounds.
The competition also provided an excellent opportunity for students to work collaboratively, sharing ideas, solving design challenges, and applying logical reasoning to achieve their artistic goals. Teachers guided them in integrating mathematical accuracy with aesthetic appeal, making the process both educational and enjoyable.
This was not merely a test of skill but a celebration of learning by doing. It enabled students to visualise and internalise geometric principles in a hands-on manner, reinforcing classroom lessons through creative application. The excitement and enthusiasm reflected in their work underscored how art and mathematics can coexist beautifully when approached with curiosity and innovation.

Such activities truly highlight Apeejay School’s commitment to experiential learning and to nurturing well-rounded, inventive thinkers of tomorrow.
