According to Andrew Barras: Technology in the classroom is not the end goal; enabling learning everywhere is the goal. With that vision in mind, Apeejay School, Noida, recently held its much-awaited Virtual Strokes competition for class IV students. This unique computer-based event allowed students to combine creativity with technology and showcase impressive coding as well as mathematical skills in a lively format.
Since learning is an ongoing process in a technological world, such competitions go on to depict the seriousness with which Apeejay Education is looking into developing digital learning and creativity in the classroom. Virtual Strokes, keeping this philosophy alive, nurtures a generation of students as being technologically savvy and creatively skilled.
This event that blended practical coding with some imaginative thinking spoke directly to the heart of Apeejay Education’s commitment to holistic education in a world of very rapid change. Such events enable a state of newer discovery, newer innovation, and newer excellence in the best of technology-driven learning environments as provided by Apeejay School, Noida.

The two-round competition began with a preliminary challenge in which students, after using the software, Logo, were tested for both their coding and mathematical capabilities by completing a prompt through coded instructions, blending quick thinking with computational skills. It was a time-bound challenge and the quickest four from every section would take it to the final round.

In the second and final round, the students had to use their digital imagination based on two themes – My Favourite Festival or A Busy Road/ City Scene. The judges were thrilled with young coders’ capacity to assimilate technical expertise with artistic skills so beautifully transform their visions into intricate digital art.

Overall winners: Saavi Jain of class IV E and Vihaan Gupta of 4C
Sectional winners: Abeer Vishesha Rastogi of class IV A, Vedant Verma of class IV B, Shivansh Agarwal of class IV C, Harshil Sharma of class IV D, and Ayushman Sinha of class IV E.
Saavi said that she likes computers and especially LOGO. “I was able to solve all the problems that ma’am taught us in class and also because I wanted to improve my logical skills that I participated in the competition. The good part about computers is it’s very fast and gives results quickly. We can create new and creative things on computers,” she shared.
Speaking about the experience, Vihaan said: “I practised every day for half an hour in the evening. My elder brother is in college and he is also very good at coding. That was also a motivating factor for me. I was thrilled and my parents were also happy that I bagged the overall second position in this competition wherein I competed with the best students in each section,” he shared.

Through events like Virtual Strokes, Apeejay School, Noida continues to pave the way for young minds to explore, innovate, and excel in technology-driven learning environments.
