Cherishing memories, embracing new beginnings

Farewell events are essential as they serve to celebrate the journey of students, foster a sense of community, and help ease the transition from school life to the next stage of life. For the same, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, hosted a vibrant farewell ceremony for the Class XII batch of 2024-25 on February 5, 2025. The event, organised by the teachers and Class XI students, was a joyous occasion to celebrate the seniors’ journey at the school and bid them a warm adieu as they step into new phases of life.   

The ceremony began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by an inspiring address by the Principal, Ms Sangeeta Nistandra. In her speech, she praised the outgoing batch for their exemplary leadership and dedication throughout their school years. She encouraged the students to view this farewell as a celebration of their time at Apeejay School and reminded them of balancing family, societal expectations, and personal aspirations. Wishing them success in all their future endeavours, Ms Nistandra expressed her hopes for the students to leave a lasting impact on society through their work. 

The event featured a series of cultural performances that filled the atmosphere with nostalgia and excitement. The Hindi choir presented a melodious rendition, accompanied by images that captured the seniors’ cherished memories at school. The Hindi play beautifully depicted the innocence of school life and reassured students that their alma mater would always be there for them, no matter where life takes them. The celebration continued with high-energy performances, including bhangra and a band performance, which delighted the audience.

Awards were presented to Class XII students in various categories, recognising their unique contributions and personalities. Among the awards were titles like ‘Beacon of Integrity’, ‘Jewels of Apeejay’, ‘Social Butterfly’, ‘Jokester Squad’, and ‘Pole Star’. The day’s highlight was the announcement of the Mr and Ms Farewell titles, which were awarded to Hunar Seth and Inaya Jilowa, respectively.

In a heartfelt moment, outgoing students shared recorded messages expressing their gratitude for the memories created during their time at the school. Their words reflected a deep sense of belonging and affection for Apeejay, emphasising the school’s pivotal role in shaping their lives.

The ceremony concluded with a poignant speech by the Head Girl and Head Boy, who reflected on their incredible journey and expressed their appreciation for the opportunities provided by the institute. Their words resonated with both seniors and juniors, leaving an emotional mark on the audience.

The event came to a close with a message from the Class XI students, who expressed their sadness at seeing their seniors leave and hoped for their paths to cross again in the future. The day ended with a delightful hi-tea, marking a perfect conclusion to an unforgettable farewell ceremony.
