Embarking on a celestial journey, the Astronomy Club at Apeejay School, Pitampura left an indelible mark on both students and parents alike, weaving together scientific marvels and memorable experiences that transcend the ordinary. The trifecta of the safe solar observation, hydro rocket experiment, and the enchanting overnight stargazing excursion has not only elevated the learning experience but has also instilled a profound appreciation for the wonders of the universe.

“The safe solar observation, a fascinating experiment in itself, served as a beacon of enlightenment for young minds. Breaking the shackles of myths and superstitions surrounding solar observation, students were equipped with solar filters, demystifying the enigma of our closest star. The simple act of gazing at the Sun becomes an awe-inspiring journey of understanding, thanks to the innovative approach of the astronomy club,” shared a parent who participated in this event.

The connoisseur of the eye was the hydro rocket experiment that emerged as a pinnacle of interactive learning, captivating the imagination of students and parents alike. The process of crafting a hydro rocket from scratch not only kindled the spark of curiosity but also imparted fundamental lessons in physics and chemistry. The thrill of launching these rockets, accompanied by the exhilarating splash of water, transformed the theoretical into the tangible, leaving the young scientists in awe.

This was followed by the overnight stargazing session, organised with meticulous care that transcended the realms of ordinary education.

“Under the canvas of the night sky, students delved into the captivating world of constellations, utilising tools like plan spheres and latitude finders. Beyond the celestial exploration, this session became a crucible for essential life skills, fostering teamwork, self-sufficiency, and the joy of shared discovery. The camaraderie amongst students, fuelled by the dedication of the teachers, made this overnight adventure not just an educational endeavour but a cherished memory etched in the minds of all participants,” expressed Dr Nishit Gupta, father of Atharv Gupta who studies in VI B.
