Intelliflicks Studios, a start-up based in Chandigarh, co-founded by Khushwant Singh and Gurdeep Singh Pall, a former corporate vice-president at Microsoft, is set to revolutionise the film industry with the release of a transformative trailer for the world’s first generative AI film. The trailer, an adaptation of Khushwant Singh’s novel Maharaja in Denims, was revealed at an event hosted by Vibrant Plus in Chandigarh.

Gurdeep Singh Pall, CEO of Intelliflicks Studios, showcased the innovative blend of AI and cinematic artistry, announcing that the movie is already in progress, with a tentative release date around Baisakhi in 2025. Pall emphasised the historical significance of this moment, labelling AI as the fourth industrial revolution that will enhance the quality of life by allowing humans to focus on creative and specialised aspects of life.

Khushwant Singh shared that his novel, previously optioned by filmmakers, including Oscar winner Guneet Monga in 2020, faced challenges — first, it spans three eras; second, budget constraints post-COVID. The advent of AI, as highlighted by Pall, is viewed as a powerful tool for development, transforming various aspects of the world, including filmmaking.
