Celebration of excellence and the undying spirit of Dr Stya Paul
The Dr Stya Paul Memorial Inter-school competition brought talent mixed with camaraderie to the foreground
Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, hosted the prestigious Dr Stya Paul Memorial Inter-School Competitions recently, marking yet another milestone in its journey of fostering holistic development and honouring the remarkable legacy of Dr Stya Paul, Founder-Chairman, Apeejay Stya Group & Apeejay Education. The annual event, initiated in 2011, continues to inspire young minds by blending creativity, critical thinking, and the spirit of sportsmanship.
Dr Stya Paul was a trailblazer in the fields of industry, education, and philanthropy. Overcoming significant challenges, he dedicated his life to inspiring generations with his unyielding belief in the power of education to transform lives. The competition reflects his ideals by nurturing the talents and values essential for personal growth and societal contribution.
The event began with a traditional ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolising enlightenment and wisdom. Students from seven schools, comprising 104 participants, were welcomed with a traditional tilak ceremony, setting the tone for a cultural and intellectual extravaganza. Principal Dr Vineet Vasishtha delivered the inaugural address, highlighting Dr Stya Paul’s achievements and commitment to holistic education.
The competitions began with fine arts, debate, and chess, each showcasing remarkable talent and innovation. Held in the Multi-Purpose Hall, the fine arts competition featured 35 participants across Junior, Middle, and Senior categories, aligning their creativity with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 5 (Gender Equality)
- SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy)
- SDG 2 (Zero Hunger)
The competition was judged by esteemed personalities Mrs Preeti Garg and Dr Malti Jain, who praised the participants for their creativity and depth of thought. Winners were felicitated with prizes during the closing ceremony, while all participants received certificates, and schools were awarded participation trophies as a mark of appreciation.
The Principal emphasised that the event embodies the values of teamwork, perseverance, and creativity by expressing, “The Dr Stya Paul Memorial Inter-School Competitions celebrate the visionary ideals of our revered Founder-Chairman, Dr Stya Paul. This event underscores the importance of holistic development by blending creativity, critical thinking, and sportsmanship. It is a tribute to Dr Stya Paul’s enduring legacy, inspiring young minds to strive for excellence and contribute meaningfully to society, aligning with Dr Stya Paul’s vision of nurturing well-rounded individuals.”
The day concluded with the National Anthem, leaving an indelible impression on participants and spectators alike. The Dr Stya Paul Memorial Inter-School Competitions not only celebrate talent but also instil the values of camaraderie, excellence, and societal responsibility, making it a true tribute to a visionary leader who continues to inspire countless young minds.
