Recently Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park celebrated Language Week, an event that showcased the vibrant linguistic and cultural diversity of English, Hindi, Sanskrit, and French. The week was a beautiful reflection of how languages unite thought, creativity, and expression, nurturing both intellect and imagination among students.

The celebration began with an inspiring Meet the Author session with noted writer Ms Anjali Mandal, who shared her journey as an author and offered valuable insights into the art of storytelling and writing. Her engaging anecdotes encouraged students to explore their own voices through words.

Throughout the week, the English Department organised a series of exciting and intellectually stimulating activities like crossword puzzles, bookmark designing, word relays, JAM (Just A Minute) sessions, poetry recitations, and reverse dictionary challenges. Each activity was designed to enhance vocabulary, fluency, creativity, and above all, a love for literature. Students enthusiastically participated, discovering the joy of playing with words and ideas.

The Hindi Department brought in an element of dramatic flair and spontaneity through Muhavaron ki Antakshari, Ashubhashan, Samvad evam Abhinay, and Lokokti Pehchanna. These activities not only strengthened students’ command of the language but also boosted their confidence in public speaking and creative expression.

The Sanskrit Department kept the ancient language alive with skits, songs, recitations, and quizzes that beautifully connected traditional wisdom with modern relevance. Through stories and verses, students experienced how Sanskrit continues to be a source of moral and cultural enrichment.

Adding a global dimension, the French Department hosted vibrant and engaging events such as La mode française (a French Fashion Show), a cultural quiz, Le café français, and presentations on Les écrivains français et leurs œuvres. These activities gave students a taste of French art, cuisine, and literature, encouraging appreciation for global cultures and languages.

By the end of the week, the corridors of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, echoed with voices, laughter, and creativity in many tongues. Language Week 2025 was more than a celebration of words — it was a celebration of ideas, expression, and the shared human experience.

As the event concluded, one truth resonated clearly: language is not just a means of communication, but a bridge that connects us to culture, creativity, and self-expression.
