Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) in Jalandhar celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul Ji, the first lady of the Apeejay Stya Group, with a vibrant Rajeshwari Kala Utsav. This event highlighted her significant contributions to the fine arts and honoured her legacy. Smt. Rajeshwari Paul’s passion for fine arts inspired the foundation of Rajeshwari Kala Sangam, which has evolved into the renowned Apeejay College of Fine Arts, fulfilling the artistic dreams of young talents.
The celebration began with Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra reading a heartfelt message from Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, Chairman of Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, and Apeejay Education. In her message, Mrs. Berlia emphasised the relentless efforts of her parents, the founder president Dr. Stya Paul Ji and Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul, in preserving and promoting Indian art and culture. Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul, an excellent Kathak dancer and swimming expert, was a significant inspiration behind the establishment of Rajeshwari Kala Sangam. Her vision continues to flourish through the college, playing a vital role in nurturing young artists.



Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed her gratitude and admiration for the dedication of both teachers and students in perpetuating the heritage of Dr. Stya Paul Ji and Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji. She highlighted their continuous efforts in spreading the essence of art across India.

The event featured an array of cultural performances that captivated the audience. Students from the Department of Music, including Shivam, Deepali, Nargis, Diya, Sahil, Sagar, and Manmeet, delivered soothing bhajans. Sehaj Deep Singh and Amandeep Singh from the Department of Music Instrumental presented a mesmerising musical rendition of Raaga Pelu. Lavisha, a B.Com. student, recited a powerful poem on women empowerment, while Akshat, a B.A. student, shared insightful views on the significant contributions of women in society.

An art exhibition organised by the college students paid tribute to Smt. Rajeshwari Paul ji, showcasing their artistic talents. The students were honored with certificates for their exceptional work. Gargi, a B. Voc. Contemporary Form of Dance student, delivered a spectacular performance of Indian Classical dance, paying homage to Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul ji.
The event was gracefully conducted by Dr. Simkee Dev from the Department of Economics. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Arun Mishra, Advisor Cultural Affairs, Dr. Amita Mishra, Dean Youth Affairs, and Dr. Monica Anand for the immense success of the event.


In conclusion, the Rajeshwari Kala Utsav was a fitting tribute to Smt. Rajeshwari Paul ji, celebrating her legacy and inspiring the next generation of artists.
