Celebrating the Colours of Tradition

The Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, came alive with colour, music, and festivity as the campus embraced the vibrant spirit of Teej. The celebration was a joyous tapestry of tradition, artistry, and togetherness, bringing students, faculty, and staff under one cultural umbrella.

From the rhythmic beats of Punjabi folk dances to the delicate fragrance of fresh mehndi wafting through the air, every moment of the day reflected the beauty and richness of our heritage. Students adorned in traditional attire added to the visual splendour, while the infectious energy of performances filled the campus with excitement.

Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director at AIMETC, set the tone for the event with heartfelt words, “It’s heartening to see our students embracing tradition with such passion. Events like these are important – they not only celebrate our heritage but also bring our campus community closer. Well done to all the performers and participants!” He also extended warm appreciation to those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, saying, “Kudos to the Cultural Club and the student coordinators for their commendable efforts in organising such a seamless and spirited event. Your enthusiasm and dedication truly brought the celebration to life.”

One of the day’s most captivating highlights was the Mehndi Competition, coordinated by Ms. Parmjit and Ms. Preet Kamal. Students showcased their creativity and skill, presenting intricate and breathtaking designs that drew admiration from onlookers.

The celebration also featured lively Solo and Group Dance performances, coordinated by Mr. Gurpreet Singh and Ms. Shikha Sharma, where students displayed remarkable talent and stage presence. The overall event was jointly managed by Cultural Coordinator Mr. Daljeet Singh Matharu and Co-coordinator Ms. Rajinder Kaur, ensuring that every detail was executed with perfection.

The Teej festivities at AIMETC were more than just a cultural programme; they were a heartfelt expression of community spirit. The fusion of joy, tradition, and talent created an atmosphere that was both festive and deeply meaningful. Beyond the music, dance, and art, the event served as a reminder of the importance of preserving cultural heritage in modern academic spaces.

As the celebrations drew to a close, the smiles, laughter, and shared memories lingered – proof that such occasions not only strengthen our connection to tradition but also enrich the fabric of campus life. Teej at AIMETC was indeed a vibrant celebration of the colours of tradition, one that will be fondly remembered for years to come.
