Apeejay School, Saket, recently came alive with colours, creativity, and confidence as students celebrated Hindi Diwas with great pride and enthusiasm. The week-long observance, organised under the banner of Hindi Week, was designed not only to mark the importance of the day but also to instill in young learners a deeper appreciation for the language.
A blend of competitions and creativity
The celebration featured a variety of engaging competitions such as poetry recitation, Panchatantra storytelling, slogan writing, word chain games, and the ‘Adjective and Noun Garden’ activity, where students created imaginative combinations like rang-birange phool (colourful flowers). Adding to the excitement, an art and writing competition was held on the theme Mera Desh, Meri Bhasha – Meri Pehchaan, which encouraged students to express their love for the nation and its language through artistic skills.

Through these activities, the students not only showcased their creativity but also highlighted how Hindi connects us to our cultural roots and values. Their drawings, handmade posters, and slogans reflected both patriotic fervour and linguistic pride. It was heartening to see young learners confidently express themselves in Hindi, reinforcing the idea that the language is not just a means of communication but also a reflection of identity.
Learning beyond the classroom
The programme underlined the school’s belief that celebrations like Hindi Diwas go beyond being just annual observances. They offer children a platform to learn teamwork, creativity, public speaking, and cultural awareness. Teachers encouraged students to embrace Hindi not only as an academic subject but as a language of thought, creativity, and belonging.

The event concluded with the thought that Hindi, being one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, is a bridge between generations and communities. By celebrating it in such a holistic manner, Apeejay School, Saket, reinforced its commitment to nurturing pride in Indian heritage while preparing students to engage with the world.
