Apeejay School, Saket recently participated in the vibrant and heart-warming Special Olympics Bharat event hosted by Sister School Apeejay School, Pitampura. The inter-school meet brought together young learners from multiple institutions, creating an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, inclusivity and youthful energy. For the students of Apeejay School, Saket, it was not just a day of sports—it was a meaningful learning experience that celebrated the values of acceptance, teamwork and perseverance.
The event was thoughtfully curated to ensure that every student, irrespective of ability, felt welcomed and empowered. As the morning began, the campus came alive with bustling activity—bright smiles, excited chatter and a palpable sense of unity. Students eagerly took part in a series of engaging sports activities including relay races, corn hole, tug of war, and other fun-filled events designed to encourage movement, coordination and collaboration.
What stood out throughout the day was the spirit of collective learning. Every race, every game and every cheer became a lesson in empathy and mutual respect. Students learnt how teamwork can amplify individual strengths, how cheering for peers builds confidence, and how healthy competition can be both enjoyable and educational. Teachers accompanying the students shared that events like these help young minds develop emotional intelligence, patience and resilience—skills that extend far beyond the sports field.

The relay race witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students sprinting passionately while their teams rallied behind them. The corn hole activity allowed participants to refine their focus and coordination, turning a simple game into a delightful challenge. The ever-popular tug of war drew loud cheers and laughter, reminding everyone that strength is not just physical but also rooted in unity and rhythm.
The warmth of the event was further highlighted by the admirable camaraderie displayed among students. Children celebrated one another’s successes and encouraged peers who needed support, reflecting the deeper values that the Special Olympics movement stands for—joy, inclusivity and mutual respect.
Sharing his thoughts on the school’s participation, Dr Sujeet Eric Masih, Principal of Apeejay School, Saket, said: “Apeejay has always kept Nation and Human Values first. Nation building and Man making has always been an intrinsic vision. Kudos to the students and teachers, well done.” His words beautifully capture the school’s commitment to shaping compassionate, responsible citizens who value dignity and unity.

To honour the participation and effort of every child, all students received certificates of participation. This meaningful gesture reinforced the message that dedication and effort are as important as winning. For many students, holding the certificate became a moment of pride, motivation and self-belief.
