Celebrating love, wisdom and generations together

Recently, Apeejay Svran Global School, Sector-21-D, Faridabad, joyously celebrated Grandparents’ Day, paying heartfelt tribute to the pillars of family love and legacy. The celebration was designed to honour the invaluable affection, wisdom, and unconditional support that grandparents bestow upon their grandchildren. 

The programme commenced with a warm introduction, embracing the guests with respect and admiration. This was followed by a devotional Ganesh Vandana and a graceful shabad recital. The spiritual performances created an atmosphere of positivity and gratitude, reflecting
deep-rooted Indian values and cultural reverence for elders. 

The Officiating Principal of the school, Mrs Purnima Vohra, addressed the gathering, extending a heartfelt welcome to the grandparents. In her message, she highlighted their irreplaceable role as the keepers of tradition and the guiding light who shape children with love, stories, and life lessons no classroom can ever teach. She also appreciated the parents and teachers for working together to nurture a strong foundation of values within students.

The stage came alive with student performances. A specially composed group song touched every heart, expressing affection and thankfulness towards grandparents. The highlight of the day was a series of lively retro-themed dance presentations by students from Nursery to Class VI. Their energetic movements, charming expressions, and colourful costumes brought back timeless melodies and created a beautiful blend of nostalgia and joy.

Following the cultural performances, the celebration continued with fun-filled activities. Grandparents cheerfully participated in a round of musical chairs, showcasing their playful spirit. They also enjoyed an engaging hand-printing activity with their grandchildren and captured unforgettable memories at the specially designed ‘photo booth’.

The event served as an important learning experience for students, helping them understand the value of family bonding, respect for elders, and the importance of cherishing relationships beyond digital screens. Through shared activities and emotional connections, children gained a deeper appreciation of the love, patience, and wisdom that grandparents bring into their lives.

   In her vote of thanks, the head girl expressed deep gratitude to all the grandparents for their presence, blessings, and everlasting love. 

The special day at Apeejay Svran Global School concluded with smiles, warm embraces, and cherished memories; a true celebration of love passed across generations.
