Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park recently held an Inter-House Solo Dance Competition to celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage through folk dance. The event featured students from Akbar, Ashoka, Tagore, and Vivekananda houses, who brought to life the vibrant traditions of Indian folk dance through captivating performances. This annual event provided a platform for students to connect with India’s diverse folk traditions, while also fostering pride in cultural roots.
The theme for this year’s competition centred around folk dances from different regions, allowing participants to explore the nuances and unique elements of each style. Students took to the stage with dedication and flair, showcasing traditional moves accompanied by expressive storytelling, paying homage to the diversity within India’s cultural landscape. Each participant performed with a blend of precision and passion, making it a close competition and an engaging experience for the audience.
The competition concluded with the announcement of winners. Manya Verma from Akbar House captivated the judges and secured the first position with a powerful performance that stood out for its authenticity and emotional expression. Kimaya Tiwari from Vivekananda House impressed the audience with her graceful moves, earning her the second position. The event concluded with a special performance by a few students, who showcased their love for dance beyond the competitive spirit, reinforcing the event’s theme of cultural appreciation.





Principal Ms. Surabhi Joshi congratulated all participants, commending their dedication and creativity in keeping cultural traditions alive through dance. She emphasised the importance of such events in nurturing cultural awareness among students and fostering a sense of pride in India’s heritage.
