People worship for spiritual prosperity and material abundance. Since it’s the heart of Diwali, you can choose eco-friendly idols – made from clay. Not only will it boost the craft of local artisans, but the mud idols enhance the beauty of your pooja room.
Create a DIY thali by following the steps mentioned below:
You can begin by grabbing a tray or plate which is reusable. The material can be of any ranging from bamboo, metal, or jute.
To decorate your thali, try using eco-friendly paints or coloured patterns. You can use bright colours like red, yellow, and deep green.
Once the colour is completely dried off, you can garnish your thali with elements that as stickers, mirrors, flower petals, and more.
You can use earthen diyas or clay diyas to enlighten the spirit and appearance of the thali. Later these diyas can be painted and decorated for an additionally appealing effect.
Once handcrafted your thali, start decorating it more with fresh flowers. You can also give a traditional touch by creating a Swastika with the help of kum kum.

Want to spice up a blank wall? Opt for fabric or metal torans. You can make your torans with flowers and leaves and tie this with moli. All you need to do is to choose a colourful cloth mostly of shiny silk or satin. Make sure the length of your toran is somewhere near 2-3 Feet. Cut the fabric into long lengths. Once done, try to fold and hem the edges. You can easily create various patterns with different colours. Lay out the fabric triangles in a way you want your toran to appear.
Voila! Hang it on the entrance door, window or wherever you want.
● Wall art
Want to unleash your inner artist? Grab some paints and paint some diyas on the wall to light your home. Stick some small mirrors to give it a glitzy look and amaze your guests.
