The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the Class 10 and 12 board examinations for the academic session 2025-26 will begin on February 17, 2026. According to the tentative schedule, Class 10 exams will be conducted in two phases, from February 17 to July 15, 2026, while Class 12 exams will also commence on the same date.

This year, approximately 45 lakh students are expected to appear in examinations across 204 subjects, both from India and 26 countries abroad. In addition to the written examinations, CBSE has planned simultaneous activities such as practical assessments, evaluation of answer sheets, and post-result processes to ensure a smooth and timely declaration of results.

As per the board, the evaluation process will begin roughly 10 days after the completion of each subject exam and will conclude within 12 days. For example, if the Class 12 Physics exam is held on February 20, evaluation of the answer scripts will start on March 3 and is likely to conclude by March 15, 2026.

On the result timeline, CBSE has typically declared results within 50 to 60 days of the last exam. In recent years, the Class 10 exams concluded in mid-March, with results being released by mid-May. For instance, in 2025, the Class 10 and Class 12 results were announced on May 13, just 56 days after the conclusion of exams. A similar timeframe is expected for the 2026 results.
