CBSE scholarships open for 2025-26

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited students from affiliated schools to apply for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students for the academic session 2025-26. Interested candidates can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in.

This scheme, sponsored by the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, aims to provide financial support to meritorious students from economically weaker sections to help cover their daily expenses during higher education. Under this scheme, selected students receive Rs 12,000 per annum during graduation and Rs 20,000 per annum at the postgraduate level.

In addition to fresh applications, the portal is also accepting renewal applications. These include:

• 1st Renewal for the year 2024
  
• 2nd Renewal for 2023
  
• 3rd Renewal for 2022
  
• 4th Renewal for 2021
  

The last date to submit both fresh and renewal applications is October 31, 2025.

CBSE has emphasised that all applications must be submitted online within the stipulated timeline. Candidates are also required to get their applications verified by their respective institutions. This may involve presenting original documents for validation. Failure to do so will render the application invalid. 

Furthermore, the board has directed institutional Nodal Officers to ensure timely verification, rejection, or correction of applications through their login on the portal.

Students and institutions are advised to check the official CBSE website and the National Scholarship Portal for detailed information and instructions. Timely action is crucial to ensure eligibility and smooth processing of scholarship benefits.
