The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the practical exam schedule for classes X and XII students who will appear for the 2025 Board exams. According to the latest circular, CBSE will conduct practical exams and internal assessments for these students beginning January 1, 2025, with theory exams starting February 15, 2025. The detailed circular, including subject-wise mark distribution, is available on CBSE’s official website, cbse.gov.in.

While the practical exams are set to begin in early January, CBSE noted that schools in winter-bound regions, which typically close during that month, should make necessary arrangements to conduct exams accordingly. The detailed date sheet for theory exams is yet to be released, but if past trends are followed, it is expected to be announced by December.

This year, approximately 44 lakh students from over 8,000 CBSE-affiliated schools in India and abroad will be sitting for the board exams. A minimum of 75% attendance is required for students to be eligible to appear in these exams, with exceptions granted only in specific cases such as medical emergencies or participation in national or international events. CBSE has clarified that in such cases, students may receive up to a 25% attendance relaxation upon submission of relevant documents.

To help students prepare, CBSE has also published sample papers for both classes on its academic portal, cbseacademic.nic.in. These sample papers offer valuable insights into the question pattern, marking scheme, and types of questions that students can expect in their board exams, allowing them to practice and prepare effectively.

This announcement from CBSE marks the beginning of the exam season. Students are encouraged to use the available resources and adhere to the guidelines to ensure a smooth examination process.
