CBSE prohibits use of ChatGPT in Board examinations

Artificial Intelligence-based ChatGPT, a chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched in November 2022 has been strictly banned during the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) Class 10 and 12 Board examinations.

The Board has disallowed Mobile, ChatGPT and other electronic items inside the exam hall, as per the instructions provided. It has clearly stated that the use of this chatbot will amount to unfair means in the exam. Any student found doing so, will be booked under Unfair Means (UFM) Activity and action will be taken as per the rules of the Board.
