CBSE opens scholarship applications for college students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited college and university students across India to apply for the Central Sector Scheme Scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year. The online application process is now open, and interested students must submit their applications via the official portal, scholarships.gov.in, by October 31, 2024.

According to the CBSE’s notification, applicants must submit their forms within the specified time. Students are also advised to ensure that the information they provide is accurate, as submitting false or incorrect details may result in immediate rejection of the application. The institutes may require students to verify their applications by presenting original documents. If students fail to do so, their applications will be deemed invalid.

To apply for the scholarship, students need to register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) using a One-Time Registration (OTR) number, password, and Captcha code. Once registered, the OTR system will automatically pull in the necessary details, including personal information and photographs.

If any details need updating, students will have to update their Aadhaar card, and these changes will be reflected in their OTR profile after completing a new eKYC process. The updated details will then be reflected in their scholarship application form.

The CBSE has stressed that students, along with their parents or guardians, must provide an active mobile number and email address during the OTR registration process, as all communications related to the scholarship will be conducted through these channels.

Students are encouraged to complete their applications on time to avoid any last-minute complications and ensure their eligibility for the scholarship.
