CBSE launches new portal for students with special needs to register for board exams

Published

on

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a special online portal to help Children With Special Needs (CWSN) prepare for the Class 10 and 12 Board Exams in 2026. Schools across India can now register eligible students starting September 9, 2025, using the dedicated section on the Pariksha Sangam portal

Registration Details & Deadlines

  • Registration Window: Opens September 9, 2025, and closes September 22, 2025, at 11:59 PM
  • Schools must log in with existing credentials to access the “CWSN module,” where students already marked in the List of Candidates (LOC) will appear.

How Schools Can Register

  1. Login to the Pariksha Sangam portal.
  2. Open the CWSN module, which lists students identified as CWSN.
  3. Schools must:
    • Upload relevant documents like medical or disability certificates.
    • Choose applicable facilities or exemptions (e.g., extra time, a scribe).
  4. Once submitted, these accommodations will automatically appear on students’ admit cards, helping exam centers make the right arrangements
  5. CBSE has also provided a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to guide schools through each step

Why This Matters

CBSE’s portal ensures students with special needs receive fair and accessible exam conditions without last-minute hassles. By embedding accommodations into admit cards, exam centers can prepare ahead of time, reducing stress during exams

This initiative reinforces CBSE’s broader efforts to modernize processes, enhance data accuracy, and promote inclusive education. It joins other recent reforms like APAAR integration, stricter LOC protocols, and better validation steps—focusing on a transparent, efficient, and equitable exam system.
