The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an important circular notifying parents about the registration process for students in Classes 9 and 11, as well as the submission of the List of Candidates (LoC) for students in Classes 10 and 12. The board emphasised the critical role parents play in ensuring that correct information is submitted for the smooth conduct of examinations.
The circular highlighted several concerns, noting that errors in data submission have been a recurring issue. CBSE pointed out that parents often submit incorrect details during the registration and LoC process, leading to requests for corrections after the exams or even after the results have been declared. Such errors not only disrupt the examination process but also create unnecessary complications for students.
To prevent these issues, CBSE has outlined specific guidelines for parents:
– Double-check all details before agreeing to the information for registration and LoC.
– Ensure accurate personal data, including the student’s name, date of birth, mother’s and father’s names.
– Use full names and avoid short forms, as many official documents require full names in the future.
– Include the surname if your child plans to study or work abroad, as many countries require it.
– Ensure the date of birth is accurate and matches other official documents.
– Cross-check passport details if your child has a passport.
– Select subjects carefully during LoC submission, as no changes will be accepted afterward.
– Visit the school to assist with timely submission and avoid missing deadlines.
CBSE has set specific deadlines for the registration and LoC submission. Students in Classes 9 and 11 must register by October 16, 2024. Late registrations will be accepted until October 24, 2024, with an additional fee. For Classes 10 and 12, the LoC must be submitted by October 4, 2024, with late submissions allowed until October 15, 2024.
Parents are encouraged to take this process seriously and provide accurate information to avoid any disruptions in their child’s academic journey.
