In a significant development, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the date sheet for the class X and XII Board exams 2025. As per the announcement, the exams will commence on February 15, 2025. The class X exams will conclude on March 18, while the class XII exams will end on April 4, 2025. The CBSE Exam Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj emphasised that the date sheet has been meticulously prepared, considering at least 40,000 subject combinations to prevent any scheduling conflicts.

For the first time, the Board released the datasheet 86 days before the start of the exams. In comparison to the 2024 schedule, this year’s announcement comes 23 days earlier, facilitated by the timely submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) by CBSE schools. Typically, CBSE issues the datasheets by late November or early December.

Class X and XII date sheet highlights

  • Class X: The exams begin with English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) on February 15, 2025 and conclude with Computer Applications, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence on March 18, 2025.
  • Class XII: The senior school exams will start with Entrepreneurship on February 15, 2025 and end with Psychology on April 4, 2025.

Practical exams and internal assessments for regular schools are scheduled to begin on January 1, 2025. For CBSE winter-bound schools, practical exams will take place from November 5 to December 5, 2024.

With over 40 lakh students from 8000-plus affiliated schools expected to participate, the 2025 Board exams are set to be one of the most streamlined in recent years.
