The Class X CBSE Punjabi Board Exam 2026 assesses students’ proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehension skills. The paper is typically divided into sections like Reading Comprehension (20 marks), Writing Skills including letters, essays, and paragraphs (25 marks), Grammar and Vocabulary (25 marks), and Literature from the prescribed textbooks (30 marks). Each section evaluates accuracy, clarity, and creative expression.

Time management and adherence to the prescribed format are essential for scoring well. Structured preparation, regular practice, and familiarity with the weightage of each section help students confidently approach the exam and perform to their potential.

According to Ms Rajwant Kaur Kahlon, TGT Punjabi at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, shares a few important tips for students to crack the exam easily. “Make a proper strategy to solve the Punjabi exam easily. To correctly answer the 12 multiple-choice questions in the Literature section, students must thoroughly read all the lessons. A 10-mark question will come from the two sections, Zafarnama and Dooja Viya, so both sections should be memorised well.”

Questions will certainly come from the lessons Ghar da Pyar, Prarthna (Prayer), Mere Bade Vadere, and the poems So Kiyo Manda Akhie, Satguru Nanak Pargatya, and Jang da Hal. The stories Kulfi and Dharti Hate-la Balad are also very important.

Students can obtain the mandatory six marks in grammar by carefully reading the unseen passage (Vartak). Kriya Visheshan (adverbs) and Bahu Arthak (multiple-meaning words) are easy topics from which marks can be gained, the educator added.

“Students should divide their study time according to the difficulty level of the chapters. Take short breaks and revise daily. Regular, consistent study is more effective than sitting for long periods at once.

Before the exam, calm your mind; focus, do some yoga, take a light walk, listen to soft music, and get a good night’s sleep. The final revision should be for the main points only. Confidence and positive thinking will definitely improve performance,” concluded Ms Kahlon.
