The CBSE Class X Hindi Board Examination is designed to assess students’ language skills, comprehension, and creative expression. The paper carries 80 marks and is divided into Reading (20 marks), Writing & Grammar (20 marks), and Literature (40 marks), with 20 marks allotted for internal assessment. The literature section includes prose, poetry, and the supplementary reader, with chapter-wise questions testing understanding, interpretation, and values. This balanced pattern encourages conceptual clarity, regular reading, and consistent writing practice, helping students perform confidently in the board examination

According to Ms Ruby Bhatnagar, HoD at Apeejay SchoolNoida, it’s important to solve at least three sample papers for speed and confidence, and she suggests a few important tips for students to ace the exam well.

Class 10 Hindi Course B preparation should be planned section-wise so that revision stays focused and effective.

For the prose section from Sparsh Part 2, students should concentrate on understanding the theme, characters, message, and key incidents of each chapter. Both MCQs and descriptive questions are important here. A good preparation strategy is to write brief character sketches and learn the central ideas of the chapters. Practising two to three value-based questions from each lesson helps in building answer depth. Important lines and major events should be memorised for reference-based questions.

In the poetry section, questions are mainly MCQs and descriptive in nature. Students should focus on understanding the meaning of each stanza rather than rote learning. The central idea of every poem must be clear. Regular revision of poetic devices such as metaphor, symbolism, and imagery is essential. Practising short explanation questions will help in writing precise answers during the exam.

Grammar is a scoring and time-saving section if prepared well. Important topics include samas, muhavare, vakya bhed, and padbandh. Preparation should focus on revising rules along with examples and solving previous years’ question papers. Grammar answers depend on accuracy, so students should avoid overthinking and trust their practice.

The writing section can fetch high marks if formats are correct. Students should focus on formal letters, paragraph writing, notice writing, advertisements, e-mails, and laghu katha. Preparation should involve memorising formats, using simple and clear language, sticking to the word limit, and carefully avoiding spelling and grammatical mistakes. Consistent practice can make this section a strong scoring area.

A smart last-minute revision strategy focuses on sharpening what you already know rather than trying to relearn everything. Revise chapter summaries instead of going through full chapters. Pay attention to the central theme, the key message, and the important characters in each lesson. This helps you recall answers quickly during the exam. Also revise the formats of writing tasks so you feel confident about structure and presentation.

Along with content revision, do some light grammar practice to avoid careless mistakes. Make sure you sleep for seven to eight hours every day, as rest is essential for memory and focus. Take short breaks after every study session to avoid burnout, and spend five minutes on deep breathing to calm your mind.

“Do not compare your preparation with others. Everyone studies differently. Eat light and healthy food to stay energetic, and keep reminding yourself that Hindi is a scoring subject. A calm, positive mindset can make a big difference on exam day,” the educator said.
